Indian Currency 

a. Indian rupee (INR) is the official currency of the Republic of India. The issuance of the currency is controlled by the Reserve Bank of India.
b. Indian currency is also Known as Fiat Money.ie. Money on the order of Government.
c. Indian rupee sign (INR) is the currency sign “?” for the Indian rupee, the official currency of India. Designed by D. Udaya Kumar, it was presented to the public by the Government of India on 15 July 2010
d. The first series of coins with the rupee symbol was launched on 8 July 2011.
e. Reserve Bank manages currency in India and derives its role in currency management on the basis of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
f. Currency notes are printed at the Currency Note Press in Nashik, the Bank Note Press in Dewas, the Bharatiya Note Mudra Nigam (P) presses at Salboni and Mysore and at the Watermark Paper Manufacturing Mill in Hoshangabad.
g. Each banknote has its amount written in 17 languages.
h. Government of India has the only right to mint the coins.
